Anorexia-anxiety

Eat for the health of it.

If you feel you are anorexic, you are not alone. There are many others like you and the sooner you get help the easier it will be to control. I knew a girl that was very ill in this respect and she was so pretty and friendly, you would never guess that she was sick. I didn't even want to believe it when I heard that she had a problem at all. Soon I was hearing stories that she was pregnant and that she miscarried, because she accually starved it. Her husband divorced her and she married again and she continued with her poor eating habits.Soon it took over her life, in the end she committed suicide. How horrible it has to be to think you are fat and all you would have to do is see a doctor and get some help.

Anxiety is another type of mental illness brought on more by a lot of stress from your job or the environment or some people can't handle the stress of every day living. You have to realize that you do need help in some way. If nothing else, you could try KAVA, which is a Polynesian drink that the Islanders use to calm down. It is all natural and safe to drink. KAVA is not a nervous system depressant but it has a very calming affect. I am sure I have seen this in the health food stores. It comes in capsul form. If you can't find it ask for them to order it for you. Or you could go to the Islands and maybe make your own. If you or someone you know has an eating problem or if they are under a lot of stress see a doctor.

Eating all natural foods can give you a lift also, try it-you'll like it. A good start would be to order my all natural cookbook, GRANDMA'S BACK TO BASICS ALL NATURAL MORE THAN JUST A COOKBOOK ISBN#0-8059-6286-7,by Teresa Thompson, please order at: www.dorrancepublishing.com or call at: 1-800-788-7654, or order at: Amazonbooks.com

A man stumbles into the bar and sits at the bar next to another patron and asks if he would be so kind as to buy him a drink.

"Why of course," came the reply.
The first man asks,"Where are you from?"
"I'm from Ireland."
"You don't say, I am from Ireland too.Lets have another round to Ireland."
"Of course,"
The first man curiosly asks,"Where in Ireland are you from"
"Dublin."
"I can't believe it," says the first man. "Lets have another drink to Dublin."
The second guy agrees.
Curiously the first guy asks, "What school did you go to?"
"Saint Mary's," replies the second man."I graduated in 62."
"This is just unbelievable, I went to Saint Mary's and I graduated in '62, too."
About this time everyone had taken this all in and one of them asks, "What's going on here?"
The bartender replies, "Nothing much, the O'Mally twins are drunk again."

Aneurysms and signals

Eat for the health of it.

Mostly anuerysms are caused by plaque buildup that causes hardening of the arteries. You may not even have a warning sign, but it may be found on a routine checkup or an x-ray. Look for signs like, hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, persistant cough, a throbbing lump in the abdomin, severe backache, feeling cold in the legs or severe chestpain. Get a checkup if any of these occur or it could be too late.

Prevention: routine checkups, keep your cholesterol down by eating garlic, onion, ginger and cayenne pepper, watch your blood preasure. Try supplements or foods high in potassium and magnesium and try blackstrap molasses, which isn't too bad, I add it to some warm water and drink it.

Mostly if you eat healthy by eating all natural foods, you are pretty well set with good supplements. If you are concerned then have a blood test to see what you may need to take. I eat all natural because my body does not like chemicals and sometimes I think I am luck so I don't eat those artificial food additives that make me itch. You will find that my all natural cookbook is very easy to follow and has very good, easy recipes in it.

Laughter is healthy:

The Indians asked their chief if the winter was going to be pleasant or cold. The chief was not sure so he told members of the villiage to collect all the wood they could find for the winter just in case.

Wanting to be a good leader and not misinform his people, the chief calls the National Weather Service to be sure. He asks, "Is this winter going to be cold?"

The answer on the other end of the line is,"This winter will be very cold indeed."

The chief goes back and tells his people to search and collect even more wood.

A week later he calls the National Weather Service again and asks, 'Is this winter going to be very cold?"

"Yes, indeed, this winter will be very cold."

The chief orders his people to pick up every scrap of wood they can find.

Two weeks later the chief again calls the weather bureau and asks if the winter is going to be very cold.

"Absolutely," the man replies, "the Indians are gathering wood like crazy."

Witch hazel- a wonder drug?

Eat for the health of it.

If you are troubled with itching, burning, bleeding and pain in your rectum, it could be caused from your diet of hotdogs, balogna, ham, catsup etc. but you never thought it would leave you with a flaming rearend.

Simply buy a bottle of Witch hazel and some cotton balls; now this is what I was told to do, soak the cotton balls with the witch hazel then squeeze out the excess and put them up the tush and leave them there for a while and then remove them. Now how can I get them out of there? Maybe the next BM. Believe me I am going to try this the next time my hemrrhoids flare up. I think it will be worth the try.

Keep eating that good old-fashion food and hopefully you won't need it but hey everyone likes to eat junk food now and then. I just had a flare up with my allergies and after a deep deep thought as to what I ate, I came to the conclusion that I ate some clam chowder at a pretty much all natural food restaurant and after I broke out I asked if they used any MSG, they brought the container to me to see if there was any MSG in the ingredients and it did not list it but I told them something they did not know-IF THE ADDITIVE IS NOT AT LEAST 5% OF THE PRODUCT, THEY DO NOT HAVE TO LIST IT. That is real bad for me or anyone that is allergic to these chemicals.

All I can say is keep eating food that is in it's natural state and you should never have a problem with allergies. What is worse yet is that I took the generic brand of Allegra (fexophenadine) for the allergic reaction and I got worse from the generic brand pill. So another trip to the drugstore and I got some real Allegra, hopefully that will work. I am going on a bus trip tomorrow and I hate to itch all the way there and back.
Okay, remember my all natural cookbook, it makes a great gift for showers, weddings birthdays and also a thank you gift for someone who has done you a favor.

Recognizing an aneurysm

Eat for the health of it.

Aneurysms are mainly brought on by hardening of the arteries mostly because of fatty plaque buildup. Most of time there is no warning signs. It is usually detected by an x-ray while having a routine checkup.

Some of the symptoms are hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, throbbing lump in the abdominal area, severe backache, leg pain or chest pain. Any unusual pain especially if it is severe, warrants a visit to the doctor.

Keep your cholesterol down, watch your blood preasure. Try using garlic, ginger and cayenne pepper. Eat foods high in Potassium, magnesium and minerals.

"That's right," he says, "and don't you forget it.I'm the one who wears the pants in this family."
With that she removes her panties and throws them to him and says, "Try these on."
He tries them on and finds he can't get them over his knee caps and tells her,"I can't get into your pants."
She answers, "That's right, and that's the way it will be until you get an attitude adjustment."

Allergies again

Eat for the health of it.

I know I told you that I had an allergic reaction to honey(I should say the ruined honey that they added High fructose corn syrup to). What a lousy thing to do.It messed me up good. To add fire to the flame, I was given the wrong allergy medicine, I cannot take generic drugs because they have different additives, which I am allergic to. I took the pills back to the drugstore and ask if that was generic and sure enough it was so they did give me a new prescription with the name brand medicine. It just really ticks me off that they have to add crap to medicine which is supposed to make you feel better instead of worse. Now that I am taking the right medicine it is still going to take another week to get the crap out of my system before this itching will go away.

If you ever have a breaking out on your body and you want to find out what it is, you will have to go through the process of elimination. This means exactly that. You eliminate all white flour and white sugar - that means anything that is made with bleached flour and sugar. Also anything that is processed, meaning additives of any kind that is not in it original state.

You should drink only spring water or mineral water. No clorine. You can have fresh fruit juices, that say all natural and hopefully they are telling the truth.
The reason I say this is because I once saw a bag of potato chips that said 'All Natural' on the bag and in smaller letters it said, 'MSG' added. Then that makes it not all natural because MSG is an added chemical that makes people sick.

All fruits and vegetables are all natural but because of the sprays they use I suggest eating organic unless you can peel it. I am not sure if just washing is going to remove the chemicals, they probably penitrate the peeling.

If you drink milk I suggest you get it from the health food store. The milk you buy at the store is processed so much. We drank milk straight from the cow, sometimes it was still warm when my dad would bring it in from the milking parlor. I stick to using real butter and all natural cheese. You buy organic eggs.

Get your protein from nuts and meats. Nuts should be eaten raw. Meats should be bought from a slaugter house that is well known for their good meats.Try getting your fish from a clear lake or a reputable market.

Remember no processed foods. After a week or so of this eating you should be cleared up. It would be best to follow through with this but it is difficult. Keep track of all the foods you add to your diet and if at anytime you notice a rash or itchy area, write down what you ate that may have caused the rash, then be sure not to eat that again. You could have more than one thing that you are allergic to.

I hope this information will help someone else, like me, who is plagued with allergy itching and this can cause other problems too if left go. It can affect your eyes, breathing, heart palpatations etc.

I know if you follow my all natural cookbook it can help you to choose what to eat. GRANDMA'S BACK TO BASICS ALL NATURAL MORE THAN JUST A COOKBOOK ISBN # 0-8059-6286-7 Please order at: www.dorrancepublishing.com or phone orders at:1-800-788-7654. Or you may order at: Amazonbooks.com.

What to do with a hangover

Eat for the health of it.

Now I have no idea if this works but if you ever have a hangover why not try it? I don't think I will ever need it, but who knows?

First of all if you party way to much and you feel really bad, after you have had some sleep and you wake up and feel like a piece of crap; drink a few cups of warm mint tea with a pinch of powdered ginger root in it. If that doesn't work, try drinking an eight ounce glass of warm water with 2 Tablespoons of pure honey and a pinch of black pepper added to it.

You never know what will work for you until you try it.Always try sticking to the all natural ingredients. All natural cooking is good for you, and I would like you to try my all natural cookbook GRANDMA'S BACK TO BASICS ALL NATURAL MORE THAN JUST A COOKBOOK ISBN# 0-8059-6286-7. Ears on a plane ride

Eat for the health of it.

I have heard many people talk about their ears hurting when they fly. I have never experienced that and I hope I never do, but for the ones that have that problem and have to fly, try using a few drops of colloidal silver in your ears and use a nasal spray(with colloidal silver),every day for a few days before flying. It won't hurt but it could help. I will do that before my next flight, and also chew cinnamon gum.

( sometimes I get a little stinging sensation in my nostrils from the Colloidal silver spray but it goes away shortly).

I have heard of people sucking on eucalyptus cough drops, but I am allergic to eucalyptus so I never would try that.

These can all be found at a health food store.

Walmart needed a new greeter for their store and asked the manager to pick out 4 people that he felt would do the job well. He sorted out 4 people that had applied for the job: The manager had to ask the same question to each applicant to keep things fair. The question was:"What is the fastest personal thing that you can do?"First, there was Maria. Maria answered, "A thought, it just pops into your mind."
The manager said, "That's a good answer."
Then James said, "I think the fastest thing is a blink, it just comes and goes."
"That's a good answer," said the manager.
Then Joan said, "I think the fastest thing is a light switch, you flip a switch and just like that a light can come on in your yard."
Again the manager had to say that was a good answer.
Then Bubba spoke up and said, "well, I think diarrhea is faster than any of those answers." The manager said, "Well, that could be but can you explain why you think that?"
Bubba answered,"I wasn't feeling so good and as I ran to the bathroom and before I could THINK, BLINK or TURN ON A LIGHT SWITCH- I had already filled my britches."
Bubba is now working at Walmart. I'll bet you will think of this everytime you go into Walmart now.

Boils and difficult pimples

Eat for the health of it.

I remember years ago that I had a boil on the top of my arm, where my elbo bends. I remember how painful that was. I haven't the slightest idea how they occur. I tried different things on it, like the inside skin from an egg shell. It came to head and was all puss. I sterilized a needle and poked a hole in it and I put a drawing salve that my mother had in the medicine cabinet and it came out, core and all.

I wish I could find this drawing salve because it really worked. It was a hard salve that you had to heat it with a match and it would drop onto the bandage and you had to let it cool a bit but yet put it on when it was still warm and it drew out whatever you had in there. I also remember when my brother had a big sliver in his foot and my mother put it on there and it came out.
If anyone knows anything about this salve and where I can get it, please let me know. All I remember was they called it NONOT. It was a log of salve and you had to heat it.

Another older medicine that was on the shelf until just a few years ago was Burgoons Cordial and it was good for tummy aches, and it worked and it was safe to use.

The medicine now-a-days that you buy, you have to read the label and if you are taking some drug, and they don't mix, you could get sicker than you were.

CRAMPS OR ABDOMINAL PAIN

Eat for the health of it.

I wish I had heard of this treatment years ago when I had a lot of stomach pain, but it was from nerves and I am not sure if this would work for nerves but I don't think it would hurt to give it a try.

Take about a tablespoon of poppy seeds(they should be around the spice rack in the grocery store.)If you do not have a grinder, use a plastic bag and place the seeds into the bag and pound them with a rolling pin, enough to break them up. Boil a pint of wine and place the crushed poppy seeds into the wine. Cover, and let simmer for several minutes, set aside to steep for 20 minutes. Strain and drink one cup of the brew. I hear tell, that this will bring relief to the worst stomach cramps. It's worth the try. Of course you should see a doctor if you have severe pain to make sure you do not have appendicitis.

Cocklebur tea

Eat for the health of it.

I remember getting those prickly burrs on my clothes when I was young. We used to make little nests and other figureines like out of them. They are nasty if you get them in your hair and the poor sheep had them in their wool but that is where they got the idea to make velcro.
The indians also used to make a tea from the leaves of the burdock. I think I will stick to honey, only I am going to buy it at the health food store to make sure it is not laced with HFCS.

I am being more frustrated then ever by the people that are ruining all of our good foods. I know that honey has healing properties and it has been used for a long time, but now they have added High Fructose Corn Syrup to it.
I used to have honey in my coffee every day until I broke out and now I have to be careful of the honey too.

Are the foods you are eating promoting plaque?

Eat for the health of it.

The next time you are chewing a mouth full of food, ask yourself if this food is protecting your teeth or is it attacking them? Think of raw fruits and vegetables as a scrubbing device for your teeth, because it is actually scrubbing away as you chew, dislodging particles that have caught between your teeth. Even saliva fights against plaque-related acids and enzymes that attack teeth.

Cheese, milk, yogurt and other dairy products help bring back the minerals your teeth may lose do to eating acid type foods that invites tooth decay.

A good and healthy drink is green or black tea, that helps to suppress plaque bacteria.

Chewing gum is a good tooth brush when you don't have one with you but buy some from the health food store that is made with Xylitol.

Always think healthy, and to eat healthy you have to eat all natural, I have heard many people say that they wished they had learned about eating foods without chemicals and too many processed foods before they got sick or too over weight. But I tell them to start today to change their health around. It's amazing how short a time it is that you will start to feel better. You really do not have to start out as a diet or try to lose weight, let it come naturally. When you start eating all natural foods, you will feel good and before you know it, you are losing weight because you are more satisfied with the taste of good healthy foods.
If you want a diet that is sure to please anyone; go on a low carb diet, it's so easy to follow. Just cut flour(starches) and sugar from your diet. You can eat all the fish and meat you want(as long as it isn't breaded.)Most veggies, tossed salad with Blue cheese dressing, Ranch, Thousand Island or vinegar and oil. Fruits are limited but encouraged to eat one orange or one apple a day. You can drink coffee with real cream and use Stevia as a sweetener. Tea and lots of water.

My all natural cookbook is great for just good healthy eating, because when you eat all natural foods, you are more satisfied.

How to clean your face

Eat for the health of it.

I just read an article and I am passing it on,and I am going to try it,just to see what happens. The Native Indian teens were taught to clean thier faces with sagebrush tea. Sagebrush grows wild and is a low growing shrub with a silvery-gray color, and it has a pungeant odor of sage. This is not the culinary sage that we know how to cook with, this is a very common wild brush that grows in the West. Eaten mostly by cattle. The natives would heat a large kettle of water and place the brush, leaves and stems (no specified amount)into the water and let in cook. The young Indians would wash their faces with the solution morning and evening. Sometimes they would even swallow a small amount of it.

I guess I will have to check to see if I can buy the sagebrush at the health food store. If I can't I will have to settle for soaking cottonballs in a little apple cider vinegar and wiping my face with it.

I think that a lot of these old remedies are better for you then all of this chemical laden junk. If you are allergic to everything like I am you will try anything that is natural.

If you want to try eating all natural please try my all natural cookbook, GRANDMA'S BACK TO BASICS ALL NATRURAL MORE THAN JUST A COOKBOOK ISBN#0-8059-6286-7, you may order at:www.dorrancepublishing.com or phone at: 1-800-788-7654 or you may order at:Amazonbooks.com

Staying young by eating fish?

Eat for the health of it.

Everyone wants to stay young as long as they can but not everyone knows they have to follow some sort of diet. Eating fish two to three times a week is a good start. Fish is very good for you and maybe one of the most important foods. Eating fish protects the cells against aging. Salmon, Tuna, Mackerel and Sardines are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, this helps to thin the blood. Therefore it lowers blood preasure and Triglycerides and it raises HDL cholesterol. (This is the good cholesterol.)You can add years to your life by eatingfish or at least taking Omega-3 fish oil.

I like certain fish like salmon, perch, blue gill, cod, and pickled herring. I am not doing to good with eating mackerel, tuna and sardines so I take my Omega-3 capsul.

I eat pretty much all natural foods so I have to read labels to make sure everything I eat is natural. Laughter is healthy:

After a few years of marriage, filled with arguments, a man and his wife decide they need to see a marriage counsellor. The counsellor encourages them to speak up and tell him things about one another.
The husband keeps quiet while the wife spews over everything that is wrong with their marriage.
After listening to her complain for several minutes, the counsellor goes over to the guys wife and takes her by the shoulders, kissing her passionately for a few minutes, and sits her back down. The wife is now speechless.
The counsellor looks at her husband and says, "Your wife needs that at least twice a week."
The husband scratches his head and replies,"I guess I can bring her here on Tuesdays and Thursdays."

Lumps

Eat for the health of it.

Anytime you feel a lump somewhere in your body, it scares you. Naturally the first thing you think of is cancer. I was a bit scared when I felt a lump in my breast. I had it removed and it was not cancer. What a relief. I am not sure what caused it but they told me not to drink coffee or anything with caffiene in it. I didn't think I would ever be able to give up my regular coffee but I knew I had to so I drank my first cup of regular coffee in the morning and after that I drank decaffienated and after awhile I just drank decaffienated and now I don't like the regular. I have learned to enjoy drinking herbal teas too.

Anytime you eat or drink all natural, it is really the healthiest for you. They used to poo-poo coffee but I think they feel it is good for you now too. I am glad of that. I don't drink it like I used to. I am just lucky to find something all natural these days with so many things they add chemicals to.

I like to encourage people to eat all natural as much as they can and learn how to choose the healthy foods. Laughter is healthy:

A couple returned from their honeymoon and it was obvious that they were not too happy. The grooms best man took him aside and asked what the problem was.
"Well," The guy answers, "When we got done making love the first night, as I got up to go to the bathroom, I left $50 on the pillow without thinking."

"Oh, you shouldn't worry about that,"says his friend, "I am sure your wife will get over it soon. She surely can't expect that you would have been saving yourself all these years."

The groom nods gently and says,"I don't know if I can get over it though. While I went to the bathroom she gave me $20 change."

Honey and HFCS

Eat for the health of it.

I am sure that I have stated before my opinion on using HFCS or how they are putting it in everything. I have been itching on both of my arms and under my arms are red with a burning rash. I am so careful not to eat anything with chemicals and I broke out anyway. It has taken me awhile but I think I have it nailed down.

Would you think that anything as natural to eat as honey, would be the guilty culprit? I know that HFCS always breaks my skin out under my arms, under my breasts and in the groin area where my legs bend. But I have been so careful to read labels so that I don't eat any of that horrible stuff.

When I found myself all itchy and red with a sore rash, I knew it should be from HFCS but I couldn't think of where I got it. I started thinking and figured that almost every day I would have coffee somewhere and I always put honey in my coffee instead of sugar(which by the way, sugar is bleached)and I always add cream. I happened to remember, that while I was in Florida, I recalled seeing a bottle of honey and for some reason I read the label and it said that it contained HFCS. I called the waitress over and pointed it out to her, and I told her that the reason that I can eat at that restaurant was because they used all natural ingredients and that the honey was not all natural. She took the honey and told me she would take care of it and thanked me for bringing to her attention.

I also recalled that a certain company, in Michigan, was putting HFCS in their honey. WHY?? Well, by adding the HFCS to the honey, they could make a better profit without changing the taste of the honey or I should say it is thinner but it still has the honey flavor and if it is not at least 5% of that product, they do not have to list it.
Well, now I can't use honey because I am afraud that they may have added HFCS to it. I think anytime they add anything to a product, they should list it. I can have this crap in my system for up to two weeks after I stop eating it. I am hoping it will be gone by then.
A special warning too, DO NOT FEED HONEY TO BABIES AND YOUNG CHILDREN because of the allergic reactions that it can cause for babies, depending on where the honey comes from. Talk to your doctor about that.

I cannot stress enough that you should eat all natural foods and check labels all the time to make sure you are not eating some horrid additive. These additives are usually chemicals and even though you may not react to them it can be building up in your system.

Laughter is healthy:
A young gal from Manhattan is so depressed with her life that she decides to jump into the ocean and drown. When she gets to the docks, a handsome man comes to her rescue and he tells her that he is going on a ship to Europe in the morning and he would stow her away on the ship. I can bring you food and you can make me happy.

The girl agrees and the young sailor takes her on board and hides her under a lifeboat. Every night he would bring her three sandwiches and some fruit and they would make mad passionate love. Three weeks later during a routine search, the captain discovers her.
"What are you doing here?" he asks.
"I have an arrangement with one of the sailors," she explains. "He is taking me to Europe, and every night he comes down and we make love."
"That's not what I would call it lady, this is the Staten Island Ferry."

Do people still have vericose veins?

Eat for the health of it.

I guess I am lucky that I haven't got the cursed vericose veins. I hadn't seen anyone with them either, for quite some time. I suppose because women wear slacks and jeans now so if they do have them they can hide them. I did, just recently, saw vericose veins on a woman that were huge, I felt sorry for her and wondered why she didn't have them taken care of. I wanted to tell her to check at the health food store for Pycnogenol, made from grapeseed extract and French pine tree bark, and have the manager at the store to tell her how to use it.

Women should be warned that birth control pills can cause weakened veins.

You can have discomfort from high heeled shoes, over weight, prolonged sitting even if your veins are not that noticeable. Horse chestnut tree seeds have been used to treat horse ailments, leg circulation and decrease swelling and strengthen the veins. If you mix 1 part horse chestnut tincture and 10 parts distilled witch hazel and apply to the veins once every day. It will take quite awhile to notice the difference but keep it up.It's worth the time and effort.

This blonde was tired of her husband making fun of her being blond and she set out to show him that blondes are really smart. When her husband was off to work she decides to paint a couple of rooms in the house. Her husband arrives home at 5:30 and smells the paint. He walks into the living room and finds his wife on the floor soaking wet with sweat. He notices that she is wearing a ski jacket and a heavy coat at the same time.
He asks,"Honey, are you okay?"
She answers,"Yes."
"Then what are you doing on the floor?"
"I wanted to prove to you that all blondes are not dumb so I decided to prove it by painting the house."
"Then why are you wearing a ski jacket and that heavy coat?"
"Well," she replies, "I was reading the directions on the paint can and it says:"For best results, put on two coats."

Candida or vaginal yeast infection

Eat for the health of it.

However you want to say it, it can be a very serious infection. Wearing tight fitting jeans or panty hose or any garment that is close to your body that seals in moisture can increase your risk. Try staying away from sugary diets, wear cotton underwear and of course see your doctor.

Anytime you have a srange or foul oder or discharge, check with your doctor. Vaginal infections are sexually transmitted.

A good healthy diet can always help with staying healthy. Learn how to eat healthy from my all natural cookbook: GRANDMA'S BACK TO BASICS ALL NATURAL MORE THAN JUST A COOKBOOK ISBN# 0-8059-6286-7. What to do for vaginal dryness

Eat for the health of it.

Often after menopause the vaginal tract can dry up and make it very difficult for sexual activity. Dryness may also occur while breast feeding. If there isn't any lubrication in the vagina it can lead to infection and injury during intercourse. Drink plenty of water, go to your health food store and buy some slippery elm. Sounds like a good name for it. Mix 2 Tablespoons powder with water to make a paste and add a dab of aloe gel to it. Using clean hands spread the mixture on your vulva and inside of the vagina. Another thing you can try is Black Cohosh, it is harmless, so try starting with 40 milligrams twice a day but you may not see results for 2 to 4 weeks. You can always ask at the health food store for more information on this.

I can't stress enough how important a good diet is for all kinds of health issues. If you want to know more about what to eat that is healthy for you and can help with your whole families health. Simply order my all natural cookbook and start to cook healthy and you will see the difference in a few weeks. Just getting the chemicals out of your system will be the healthiest thing you can do for your whole family.

A very drunk lady staggers into a bar and pulls herself up on a stool. She says,"Hey, tenderbar, I want a bowl of soup and a tinimar, with a pickle on top."
The bar tender gets her soup and sets in front of her thinking she will eat the soup before she drinks her drink.
The drunken lady slurps the drink down and says,"Ahhh' heartburn."
Again she says, "Heyyy tenderbar, give me another tinimar, with a pickle on top."
Again she slurps the drink down and says,"Ahhh, heartburn."
This goes on another couple of times and the bartender is getting fed up, when she tries to order another drink the bartender says, "Look lady, it's not tenderbar, it's bartender, and it isn't tinimar it's martini and it's not a pickle, it's an olive, and furthermore you do not have heart burn, your breast is in your bowl of soup."

Have you ever experienced urinary tract infection?

Eat for the health of it.

This past winter I had surgery on my neck and,of course, they gave me a mega dose of antibiotics. I had no idea what would happen but I got a bacterial infection afterwards. I ended up with some itching and burning so I went back to the doctor and I had to have a prescription to get rid of it. Had I known that cranberry juice is a good bacteria fighter, I sure would have tried that. I had 14 pills to take and they cost me $81. So if you ever think you have a start of urinary tract infection, grab a bottle of unsweetened cranberry juice and 400-millegram capsuls of cranberry, 4 times a day. Also try fresh blueberries or goldenseal tea, available at the healthfood store. If you do not get results or if you have blood in your urine, see a doctor.

It pays to eat all natural, but it didn't help me when they gave me a mega dose of antibiotics, but I was glad it wasn't any worse, like MURSA. The bartender says,"That little guy is pretty good. Where did you get him?"
Joe answers,"I got him from my Genie."

The bartender asks,"You have a Genie? May I use him? I could really use some money."

"No problem," answered Joe and whoosh, the genie appeared.

"Wow," gasps the bartender. "I wish for a thousand bucks." With a crash of thunder and a flash of lightening a thousand ducks fills his bar. "Wait a minute, I didn't ask for a thousand ducks, I asked for a thousand bucks."

"Well," Joe says,"Do you think I asked for that 12 inch pianist?"

Do you have ulcers?

Eat for the health of it.

Many times in my life, I thought I had an ulcer but after x-rays ruled it out, I guess it was nerves or something else. I think having an upset stomach can be as bad as having an ulcer sometimes, because it can work on your whole system. And if something isn't done about it, it can qnaw away at you and you can be pretty sick. Like staying in a bad marriage and day after day you put up with whatever your mate hands out. Sometimes, fighting back only makes things worse but on the other hand you can't let them pound you in the ground either. If you find yourself in this predicament, you should tell your doctor or seek a counselor. If that doesn't work you have one other choice if you don't want to end up sick and misserable the rest of your life;see a lawyer.

If you think you have an ulcer, see your doctor and if they do an x-ray and it is ruled out, ask your doctor if it can be Helicobacter pylori. This causes excess acid in your stomach. I have heard that Pepto Bismo is great for getting rid of H-Pylori.

Another treatment for the stomach that promotes healing of the ulcers is bananas that are dried and pulverized and put into capsuls. You can buy them at the Health food store. Take them 4 times a day for a month.

Another really good all natural cure is garlic. You can mash it and eat it on a cracker or you can buy capsuls. Another is Licorice. Also try soaking a half head of cabbage in a quart of water, drain the water off and drink it. Do this every day for 10 days. They claim it will cure an ulcer. (I would use a fourth of a head of cabbage and cover it with a quart or so of water. The next day use another quarter etc.

I never had an ulcer but I do know that cabbage is good for you and I eat a lot of it in either cole slaw, sauercraut, boiled dinners, vegetable soup. Maybe that's how I got rid of my burning in my stomach. I also eat radishes for the enzymes, for my stomach. If your stomach burns after you eat, try some radishes with your meal.

Can you see why all natural eating is so good for you? I know it has helped me a lot. I am glad really that I am allergic to all of these chemicals they put in our food, now I eat healthy and it really makes the difference.

Laughter is healthy:

George goes to Jerusalem with his family and while he is there his mother-in-law dies. The consul tells George that it is very expensive to send the body back to the United States. And it could cost him at least $5000 dollars to ship the body home. The consul tells him that in most cases the family decides to bury the body in Jerusalem and it will only cost $150.

George thinks about it for awhile then says, "No, I am going to take the body back to the U.S. and have the burial there."

The consul says, "You must love your mother-in-law very much to make that discision
to send the body home for the great difference in the price."

George says, "No, it really isn't that; I know of a case many years ago, a man who was buried here in Jerusalem. On the third day he arose from the dead. I just can't take that chance."

Thyroid symptoms --TMJ

Eat for the health of it.

When you don't feel right, don't you wonder if you have some kind of incurrable disease? Maybe you feel like your body switched to low gear and you wonder why. If you have packed on the pounds and you really haven't eaten more than normal, or if you feel you have dropped to low gear and your heart beat is not the same or if you are depressed and constipated you may have a thyroid problem and you should see your doctor. You can ask your doctor if you can try taking selenium and zink to help boost the thyroid rather then the medication and if he checks it again and it isn't helping then go on the medication.

TMJ- I can remember when I was a lot younger and all of a sudden my jaw locked up and for the longest time I couldn't open my mouth. We never went to the doctor when we were kids so it was years before I knew what I had. Of course it did go away after awhile. I never knew what caused it until my daughter had it and I did take her to the doctor and he explained it was like grinding your teeth or putting a lot of pressure on your jaws and they lock up like hers did. She ended up wearing a mouth piece at night and after awhile I think she lost it and as far as I know she hasn't had any trouble with that. I haven't either. If you do have a pain in your jaw I am sure you can get a mouth piece similar to what football players use and I think I saw them for sale in the drugstore. If you use it for awhile and you don't get better you should see a doctor or a dentist.

When you are eating sometimes you may notice a cracking in your jaw, maybe because we don't chew hard to chew things like we used to. Everything is tenderized or processed for easier eating so we don't use our jaws to strengthen them, therefore we don't strengthen our teeth either.

I like to chew on an apple or raw potatoes or nuts so my jaw doesn't get too relaxed and not want to work anymore. And it's really best for you all over to eat unprocessed foods all the time and eat as much all natural as you can.

A woman was filling out the forms at the welfare office. Under number of children she writes 10 and where it states, names of children she writes 'Leroy'.

When she hands in the form, the lady behind the desk points out, "Now where it says list names of your children, you are supposed to name each childs name."

"I did, they are all named Leroy."

"That's very unusual, when you call them, how do they know which one of them you are calling?"

The lady says."I just call them by their last names."

Pain in the breast?

Eat for the health of it.

It's not uncommon to have breast pain and tenderness prior to your menstrual period,or during the hormonal change before menopause. Nothing that worries you should go unchecked. Before you run off to the doctor why not try giving up caffeine products like, regular coffee, regular tea and sodas that contain caffeine and chocolate, peanuts and peanut butter, which all contain caffeine or caffeine-like substances. If the pain is bad enough you may want to invest in some custom fitted bras or find a bra that is well fitting for you.

You can try using a soft cloth saturated with cold-pressed castor oil, (available at the health food store)place on your breasts and cover that with plastic wrap and leave on for an hour. Leave the sweets alone. Try staying away from saturated fats, such as, butter, burgers, or fries. Maybe try eating more fish. Try flaxseed or flaxseed oil.(Available at the health food store) You may also ask about the chasteberry or vitex at the healthfood store.

Are you a super sweater?

Eat for the health of it.

I always sweat when the weather gets up there in the 80s or if I am super busy trying to get something done. I think everyone is different. Maybe you have more body fat which will make you sweat more or some people are just heavy sweaters. I always worry more about whether I smell or not. I try drinking more water, which can help, and also chewing on some fresh parsley too.

If you are really a heavy sweater you can try drinking sage tea. To make the tea, take 4 tablespoons of dried sage leaves and a quart of water and simmer for ten minutes and strain, let cool and sip on it. IF YOU ARE PREGNANT OR NURSING, DON"T USE THE SAGE. Normally, sweat doesn't stink but if you are bothered with odor then you may need some zink in your diet. If you take zink for awhile and you still have BO, ask your doctor or you can ask at a health food store too. Diet has a lot to do with body odors. Be sure to drink plenty of water.

If you are not on an all natural diet, maybe that would help too start. If you need some help, please try my all natural cookbook. A married couple gets in a terrible accident and the wifes face is bad enough that she needs skin grafts, so the doctor tells the husband that his wife cannot donate her own skin due to the fact that she is so skinny. The husband agrees but asks that they do not tell anyone where the skin came from. The surgery was succesful and the womans face was more beautiful than before. She is happy and thanks her husband for his generosity.

She says,"Dear, I want to thank you for everything you did for me. There is no way I can ever repay you."

He replies, "Oh, don't worry dear. I get thanked every time your mother comes over and kisses you on the cheek."

What to do with a sunburn

Eat for the health of it.

The best way to deal with a sunburn is, don't get burned. I know that's easier said then done. I lived on a farm all my life and when you had to hoe the weeds, which is the way we did it, even when we had a cultivator, you still had weeds between the plants that the cultivator couldn't get. Now you seldom see anyone hoeing because they spray everything.
I don't know if it was the right thing to do but I always used baby oil before I went out to hoe. I also would get up early in the morning and hoe until it got hot. Then I would go out later in the day when it cooled down. I wore a bathing suit and had an envious tan. I still love the sun and try to be very careful not to get burned. I still do not like to use sunscreen, I believe it causes cancer. I have read where a lot of others feel the same way. I just find a very good suntanning lotion and go out in the morning or later in the day. Go out for a few minutes the first time and stay a little longer each time so you don't burn.
If you get burned by the sun or any other way, I have a solution handy to put on any burn. I take the peelings from two bananas and put them in a pint jar and cover them with apple cider vinegar. Let that set for a couple of days (the peelings will turn black) throw the peelings away. Strain the solution and put it in another bottle with a cover and whenever you get burned put this solution on your burn as soon as you can. Keep it handy, I have burned my fingers every now and then and I quick poor some on the burn and it sooths it. Repeat if necessary. Always see a doctor if it is a serious burn.
As far as protecting the babies from the sun, I would find the very safest sunscreen if they are going to be out in the sun. I really don't like to see babies in the sun, they are so delicate. I remember being outside and we never got burned, we never had sunscreen. Mom always told us to play in the shade during the heat of the day. We got tanned just playing out there in the morning and late afternoon.

I was just watching a show that they were blasting the sun and they used a lot of sunscreen with the highest number. I honestly believe that the sunscreen is more dangerous then the sun is, when you stay out in it during the heat of the day and just go out in the morning and later afternoon and tan slowly. If you feel your skin burning you get out of the sun and put some peeling solution on it.
If you look at it from 'the way it used to be' we never heard of sunscreen or skin cancer. We also never heard of tanning beds and tanning booths, I would blame them for the cancer instead of the sun. God gave us sunshine to keep us warm and he let our skin turn tan to let us know we were getting vitamin D, that is so important for us to have.
You can also use baking soda with water, Aloe vera, you can add some vitamin C to the aloe before using it, Black tea, (brew two tea bags in a cup of water for 5 minutes sqeeze some of the tea out, cool, and place the bags on the burn, for larger areas you can soak a cloth in the tea and place on the burn. Also vitamin E oil for burns. Use cooled green tea bags for your eye lids if they are burnt.

Green and Black tea is very good for you to drink also. Are you stressed out?

Eat for the health of it.

When you are stressed out, it sends all kinds of messages through your body and can cause all sorts of problems. It can wreck your health. When you are stressed have you noticed that your heart rate goes up? Your muscles tense up. Your breathing quickens. Your muscles tighten up. Maybe it's bumper to bumper traffic or you get in a near accident. These only last for awhile and then they go away, but what if you are in a relationship where you are under everyday stress? Or maybe someone at work causes trouble for you. That can weaken your immune system and cause all sorts of illnesses.
If you have a dog, take him for a walk. I think anytime you spend outside, even if you just sit on the porch and watch birds and butterflies, it can help with your stress. If you are young enough, running is a good stress fighter. Play cards, doodle if that's all you have the time for. Read a good book. If you are young enough you can have a little garden. Plant some veggies or a few flowers and watch them grow. I find just being outside is so relaxing. And tell yourself eveyday that you can do it. You have to think possitive. Some men like to cook when they get home from work, this is relaxing for him and it is a rest for the wife that has to cook all the time.

If you want to cook all natural, which by the way can also help with health problems (mentally and physically)by keeping the chemicals out of your food. My all natural cookbook is full of recipes that are all natural.GRANDMA'S BACK TO BASICS ALL NATURAL MORE THAN JUST A COOKBOOK ISBN#0-8059-6286-7 available at: www.dorrancepublishing.com, or phone at: 1-800-788-7654, or at: Amazonbooks.com.

Laughter is healthy: Life of the potato

A girl potato and a boy potato had eyes for each other. They got married and had a little sweet potato, which they called, "Yam."

They wanted the best for their little Yam. When it was time they told her about the facts of life.

They warned her not to go out and get half baked, so she wouldn't get accidently mashed and get a bad name like 'Hot potato,' and end up with a bunch of Tater Tots.

Yam said not to worry, no Spud would get her in the sack and make a rotton potato out of her!

But she also said she would not stay home and be a Couch Potato either.

She would get plenty of exercise so as not to be skinny like her skinny Shoestring Cousins.

When she went to Europe, Mr. and Mrs. Potato told Yam to watch out for the hard-boiled guys from Ireland, (Irish Potatoes), and the Greasy guys from France,(French Fries)and when she went West to watch out for the Indians so she didn't get scalloped.

Yam said she would stay on the straight and narrow and wouldn't associate with those high class Yukon Golds,or the ones from the other side of the tracks that advertise their trade on the trucks that say,'Frito Lay.'

Mr. and Mrs. Potato sent Yam to Idaho,P.U. (Potato University),so when she graduated she'd really be in the chips.

In spite of all they did for her, one day Yam came home and announced she was going to marry Tom Brokaw.

Tom Brokaw!

Mr. and Mrs.Potato were very upset, and told her she couldn't marry him. Are you ready for this?

OK! Here it is!

Tummy ache from overindulging?

Eat for the health of it.

We have all done it. You go to a party or wedding and all the luscious food displayed on the buffet. You can't help but want to try everything and then you get to the end and your plate is running over the sides and you want to eat everything you put on your plate. Wash it down with a couple drinks and you have a king size tummy ache. Yes! Been there, done that.

Probably the best thing to do is drink something bubbly so you can burp a few times. The sooner you get the air out of the stomach the better off you will be. Get up and walk around. With me, I am allergic to HFCS, Aspartame and other sweeteners they use in soda pop so I would probably go for a beer or some sparkling water. Anything to help you burp to get you by until you get home, then take some fennel seeds.

One of the reasons they tell you to chew your food slowly before swallowing it is the saliva that you are adding to your food has digestive enzymes and it helps to break up the food and helps to digest it. I also eat radishes they have enzymes.

When you don't chew your food, that causes gas and bloating. I use Fish oil capsuls, Alfalfa tablets and drink some water. Try ginger root, lemon balm, or marshmallow root, also the old standby, baking soda.

I drink a half glass of my health drink in my cookbook; that's all natural white grape juice, all natural apple juice (equal amounts)and the apple cider vinegar. My recipe calls for a 64 ounce bottle of the apple juice and 64 ounce of the white grape juice and a 1/2 cup apple cider vinger. I drink a glass of this for indigestion and for lowering my colesterol. One more thing you can try too is grind some fresh onion, about 1/4 cup, 1/2 teaspoon honey and 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper. Noone will want to share the room with you but it should make you feel better and if you are misserable enough you will try anything.

Laughter is healthy:

Shortly after a British Airway flight had reached it's altitude, the Captain announced: "Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain. Welcome to flight 293, non-stop from London Heathrow to Toronto. The weather ahead is good, so we should have a smooth, uneventful flight, so sit back, relax and,, Oh my God...!" Silence followed.

Some moments later the Captain came back on the intercom, "Ladies and gentlemen, I am sorry if I scared you, but a flight attendant accidently spilled some hot coffee in my lap, you should see the front of my pants."

An Irish passenger yelled back, "You should see the back of mine!!!"

What to do for the smelly feet.

Eat for the health of it.

I really don't have a lot of trouble with my feet smelling, maybe because I have to keep soaking them in vinegar water or sometimes I use Olive oil on them. I noticed that whenever I walk in the grass barefoot, I get these little itchy things on my feet and around my ankles. I am only guessing that they are chigger bites. I thought that I was going to be okay if I put a towel down on the ground for my feet to rest on while I sit outside but those little devils must get around because I had my ankles all cleared and I sat out with my feet on the towel and then the itching was right back again. If I use oil before going outside, it seems to be fine. I guess I should spray the lawn for the chiggers.

Back to the smelly feet; soak your feet in a strong tea, probably any kind will work but green and black tea seems to be the best for most everything. Vinegar is good for a lot of things, even your feet. Try using baking soda in your socks. You should wear socks all the time too but if you decide to go without socks, sprinkle your shoes with baking soda.

The more natural your diet is, the better your health will be and if your stomach is feeling good, I think the rest of your body will too. I would like it if you would try my all natural cookbook: GRANDMA'S BACK TO BASICS ALL NATURAL MORE THAN JUST A COOKBOOK ISBN#0-8059-6286-7, available at: www.dorrancepublishing.com. Laughter is healthy:

One cold winter day a blonde decides to go fishing, she starts to cut a hole in the ice and she hears a voice, "There is no fish in there." She moves to another location and begins to cut another hole in the ice and again she hears, "There is no fish in there." She didn't want to give up so she tried one more time and again she heard the voice say,"There is no fish in there." The blond looks up to the heaven and asks,"Is that you lord?" The voice answered, "No, this is the manager at the iceskating rink."

What really causes bad breath?

Eat for the health of it.

First of all rotten teeth, not brushing your teeth or a few foods that leave a tell tale odor. The best thing is to drink plenty of water. Then eat plenty of veggies like, carrots, celery and fruits like apples. Citrus, protein and alcohol can bring on bad breath.

Brush your teeth and floss regularly. If you like parsley, just chew on a few leaves now and then.Alalfa tea is highly recommended or even some alfalfa tablets from the healthfood store, check the label for directions and one more good thing with alfalfa is if you have a problem with costipation; alfalfa will help with that problem too. If your bowels are moving regularly that can also help with halitosis.

You should use a mouthwash, toothpaste or gum that contains betaine or xylitol. It also helps to use a nasal spray, I recommend colloidal silver. I also recommend a NETI POT for nasal cleaning. These are both available at the health food store.

The healthier you eat the less halitosis you will have and if you like onions and garlic like I do just keep some Chlorophyll handy and WALAA!! If you want some help eating healthy, try my all natural cookbook:GRANDMA'S BACK TO BASICS ALL NATURAL MORE THAN JUST A COOKBOOK by Teresa Thompson, ISBN#0-8059-6286-7. Pain from a fall?

Eat for the health of it.

I am quite familiar with pain from falling. I fell a few months ago, injuring my already injured neck. Also hurt my shoulder. If you have followed my blogs I don't want to go through the whole story again. After surgery and weeks of rehab before surgery, bedrest, and more therapy, I still am not doing the greatest.I have numbness in my hands still but they keep saying it will get better. And my legs are still weak. That worries me.

I have learned that using hot packs and cold packs, on my shoulder, can help a lot. Massaging the sore area also helps. You can buy electric massagers that work really well for most. You can use White willow bark, which is like aspirin but it is all natural and easier on the stomach. If you have numbness or tingling or difficulty walking, I suggest you go to your doctor, it might be worse than you think.

Something you may want to try is; mix 1/2 teaspoon turmeric with enough water to make a paste and spread it on the sore area.
Also ARNICA, which is the extract of a wildflower, that you can mix 1 Tablespoon of arnica and 2 cups water, soak a clean cloth in the solution and place on the sore spot or bruised area.

I like using all natural pain killers as well as eating all natural. If you do not have a copy of my all natural cookbook, you may want to order one from www.dorrancepublishing.com, GRANDMA'S BACK TO BASICS ALL NATURAL MORE THAN JUST A COOKBOOK ISBN#0-8059-6286-7 by Teresa Thompson or order by phone at: 1-800-788-7654

Laughter is healthy: Importance of walking.

Walking can add years to your life; this enables you at 85 years of age to spend an additional 5 months in the nursing home at $7000 a month.

My granddad started walking 5 miles a day when he was 60 years old and now he is 97 and we do not have a clue where the heck he is.

I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

Who hasn't had a sore throat?

Eat for the health of it.

If you have never had a sore throat all I can say is you are so lucky. You must have a great immune system. Sometimes it might just be a simple sore throat and then again you may have the one with all the white thingies in there and it hurts so bad you don't want to swallow. Whichever it is, what do you do for it?
If you have a fever as well as white pus things in your throat, you better call the doctor, it could be strep throat. If you have a scratchy throat or sore throat from maybe inhaling paint fumes, shouting or inhaling smog or sinusitis, you could try Zink, drink something cold, chew on some slippery elm bark from the healthfood store.
One of my favorite solutions for a lot of things is, apple cider vinegar. Add two tablespoons to a cup of warm water, gargle, or mix 1/2 teaspoon of tumeric and a 1/2 teaspoon sea salt to a cup of hot water, let cool, gargle and spit until you use the whole cup. If this doesn't work go to a healthfood store and ask for something like, Marshmallow, Echinacea, or Willow bark. I have used the Echinacea.

Try to keep yourself healthy by eating all natural. My all natural cookbook will help you choose healthy foods. Easy to follow recipes and simple to make, I don't like fancy recipes, these are my favorites. Laughter is healthy: Which is the front of a tree?

A Southern Georgia boy was traveling accross the country; when he gets to Virginia, he likes it there and decides to look for a job. He walks into the International Paper Company and fills out the application for the job. Fortunately they had an opening but first they had to see how much he knows about trees.

The foreman says to the Georgia boy, "See that tree over there? I want you to tell me what kind of tree it is and how many board feet of lumber it will produce."

"That thars a Whitepine, 383 board feet of lumber in 'er."

The foreman is impressed with him. He goes up the road a piece and asks the same question again.

"That's a Loblolly Pine and she's got about 456 board feet."

Again he stops and points at another tree and asks the same question,"What about that one."

"That's a White Oak and it should produce 242 board feet at best."

The foreman decides he knows all about the wood in the trees, so he drives a little farther and stops, he hands the Georgia boy a piece of chalk and points at a tree and tells him to go make an X on the front of the tree.

The foreman thinks to himself,"The idiot, how can he know which is the front of the tree?"The Georgia boy reaches the tree and walks aroung it and he looks down at the ground, then comes around the tree and makes an X.

The foreman laughs and asks,"How do you know that is the front of the tree?"

The Georgia boy answers as he cleans his boot in the gravel,"Cuz someone took a crap behind it."

He got the job.
