Do you have rosacea?

Eat for the health of it.

I myself do not have Rosacea, but I know someone real well that does and has had treatment for it. For those who do not know what that is, it is a very annoying, flushing reddness in the skin on your face. It is easily annoyed by drinking coffee, beer, hot spicy drinks or food. Doctors believe it is caused by a chronic bacterial infection caused by skin mites, causing an infection that affects the blood vessels. This causes a blushing of the skin. What I have seen is like spider veins on the cheeks mostly. I didn't think to ask if this caused pain or not.

I know that you shouldn't drink alcohol or hot drinks, soy sauce, vinegar dressings, processed meats, shellfish, spicy hot foods, pineapple and strawberries. Don't use products containing ethyl alcohol, witch hazel, eucalyptus oil, or clove oil. And don't scrub your face with a washcloth or scented soaps.

You may want to ask your doctor but they do have a cream that has been used for vericose veins called, horse chestnut cream and also rose wax cream. Both can be found at the healthfood store. Grapeseed also is a natural anti-inflammatory. And keep in mind that topical steroids make rosasea worse.

Another thing that I always say is that eating healthy foods like all natural foods will always bring you out on top, but you have to give it some time because remember you didn't get this way over night. I know it took me some time once I found out why I didn't feel good and why I was breaking out all the time. And it took me some time to determine that I had to eat all natural foods. I also had to figure these things out by myself. I talk to people all the time about eating all natural and they know they should but they are addicted to all that processed junk food. Years from now they may think back and say I wish I had eaten all natural foods, but it may be too late, but it is never too late to give it a try.

I can only help you if you want to try my all natural cookbook, GRANDMA'S BACK TO BASICS ALL NATURAL MORE THAN JUST A COOKBOOK ISBN#0-8059-6286-7. Available at: www.dorrancepublishing.com. Phone # 1-800-788-7654 or you may order at: Amazonbooks.com

Laughter is healthy:Pecans in the cemetery

There was a large Pecan tree just inside the cement wall of the cemetery. It stood up on a hill so that when the pecans fell, some of them rolled down by the wall. One day a couple of young boys went to pick up the nuts, but someone had been there before and there wasn't a whole lot of them left so they picked the ones by the fence and got them all piled up and sat on the ground deviding them up. Meanwhile an old couple were strolling by the cemetery and the old man heard the voices coming from the other side of the fence, " One for you and one for me, one for you and one for me." The old man said, "Bertha, do you hear that? Satan and the Lord are dividing up the soles."
Bertha answered, "I often wondered how they decided who goes where."

I know it's a dumb joke but that's all I had tonight.

Cicadas chirping in your ears!!

Eat for the health of it.

Are you troubled with ear noises? A lot of people, as they get older, get tinnitis. It has to be very annoying. It can be caused by different ailments like, heart dissease or high blood preasure; long term use of antibiotics, anti-inflamatories, diuretics, even ear wax or infection. It can be caused from a number of things and you may never know what. You can try tilting your head, push on your jaw, open and close it or massage it.

If you do not have tinnitis, I would take precautions to detter it, like using ear plugs in theatres that have the volume turned way up. I have to plug my ears anywhere they have loud noises. My ears are sensitive.

In some cases it may help to get a waterfall that you can plug in, and move from room to room. This may give you some relief.

Check with the doctor now and then to see if they have come up with some sure treatment. Sometimes just trying different things can help.

I had a double ear infection this past winter and I couldn't hear very well and that was annoying too. I used peroxide, ear oil, heating pads and colloidal silver. I use colloidal silver a lot and for different things.

Probably the most important thing is to eat all natural foods and drinks. Laughter is healthy: Old Folks,

Old folks are worth a fortune, with silver in their hair, gold in their teeth, stones in their kidneys and gas in their stomachs.

I hear tell of this older lady is seeing as many as five guys a day. As soon as she wakes up, Will Power helps her out of bed. Then she goes to see John. Then Charlie Horse comes along. When he leaves Arthur Ritis shows up and spends the day, going from joint to joint with her. After a busy day she goes to bed with Ben Gay. What a life!

P.S. The preacher called on her the other day. He told her at her age she should be thinking of the Here-after and she bluntly told him, "I do this all the time. No matter where I am, in the parlor, upstairs, in the kitchen or the basement, I ask myself, what am I here after?"

Do you have Restless Leg Syndrome?

Eat for the health of it.

If you are sitting in church or at some speach etc., then all of a sudden your legs feel like they want to take off without you, you could have RLS. They may feel itchy or crawly. You may have to get up and walk just to get some relief. RLS may be caused from a deficiency of dopamine; you may need to avoid alcohol, antihistimines, ice cream (before I would give up ice cream I would try the all natural ice cream first)and by all means, see a doctor to have your blood tested for iron levels. Your doctor may prescribe some vitamins and minerals and exercise that may help.

And, of course,I can never stress enough about eating healthy. Eating all natural has got to be one of the most important remedies for good health.

Laughter is healthy: Cake or bed

After her husband had watched the football games all afternoon, his wife asks,"Honey, will you please fix the hall light? It has been flickering for weeks now."
He answers her angrily, "Fix the light? Does it look like i have GE written on my forehead? I don't think so."

The the wife asks, "Could you fix the refrigerator door?"

He asks,"Does it look like I have Westinghouse written on my forehead? I don't think so."

"Then please, can you fix the front steps before they break and someone gets hurt?"

He replies,"Does it look like I have Ace Hardware written on my forehead? I can't fix any steps. I'm tired of your nagging, I am going to the bar."

After a few drinks, he feels a bit guilty and decides to go home. As he approaches the steps, he notices that they were repaired. He walks in the house and he notices that the hall light is shining without a flicker. He goes to the refrigerator for a beer and the door is fixed.

He calls to his wife,"Honey, how did all this get fixed?"

She said, "Well, after you left I sat on the broken steps and cried. Just then a young man asked me what was wrong and i told him. He offered to help me with the repairs and all I had to do is bake a cake for him or go to bed with him."

He asked,"What kind of cake did you bake for him?"

She replied,"Helloooo. Do you see Betty Crocker written on my forehead? I don't think so."

Safe sugar

Eat for the health of it.

You have heard for years that sugar is not good for you. I know it was bothering me but it really wasn't the sugar, it was the bleaching agent in the sugar that was bothering me. Also the bleaching agent in white flour. I found this out when I went on a bus trip to a working mill. They ground the wheat into flour and they added a substance that bleached the flour, to make it extra white.

And I remembered when we were in Hawaii, there was a sugar cane processing plant down the street from where my daughter lived and they let us watch as they processed the juice from the cane and it was later sent to other places, and I learned too that in some cases they bleached this juice or the sugar from the juice and that's why the sugar in the store is so white.

I am allergic to this bleaching agent and I have to buy unbleached sugar and flour and I see no reason that they should bleach sugar and flour. It works the same when you use it. Maybe angel food cake may not be as white and also I found that lemon pie looks a bit odd colored and lemonade tastes different so you would have to use Xylitol or fructose so it wouldn't be dark and taste different. You may have to go to a healthfood store to get these products.

These are safe products, without the bleaching agent. Xylitol sugar is actually good for you as it fights bacteria. I buy xylitol gum at the heath food store. I read an article that claims that people who chew xylitol actually has 80% less tooth decay.

In additon to washing out germs it also deters polutants, pollens and other allergens that attack the mucous membranes that trigger hay fever and cause asthma attacks. Xylitol has been used in nasal sprays, and in medicine for chronic ear infections. The scientific name is D-mannose. You will find this at the health food store.

People are getting so immune to drugs that nothing works anymore so we need to go to more natural help.

That is why I wrote, GRANDMA'S BACK TO BASICS ALL NATURAL MORE THAN JUST A COOKBOOK, ISBN# 0-8059-6286-7. It's just good old fashioned cooking. You may order at: www.dorrancepublishing.com. Or call at: 1-800-788-7654. Or at: Amazonbooks.com

Laughter is healthy:

A Cardiologist died and he was given an elaborate funeral by the hospital. A large heart..covered in flowers..stood behind the coffin.Durring the funeral service all the doctors sat in awe. Following the eulogy, the heart opened up and the casket rolled inside. The heart closed and sealed the doctor in forever. At that point a man burst into laughter. When all eyes were starring at him he shrugged his shoulders and said,"I'm sorry, but I was just thinking of my own funeral. I am a gynecologist and I work for the same hospital."

The proctologist fainted.

you don't have to end up with osteoporosis

Eat for the health of it.

I would say that most people would say that: "My parents have it and I know I will too," but you could try a high calcium diet or a lower salt diet. I truly believe that you do need salt in your diet, but try to use sea salt or Himalayan salt, they do not have chemical added to it like regular table salt does.

Mostly you have to watch out for canned foods or fast foods. I don't know why they even use the chemical in the salt, they say it is to keep it from caking but I have sea salt that is a couple years old and it has never caked. Another thing, with regular table salt,I always had to put rice in the salt shaker to keep it from getting damp and sticking together. So far I have not put any rice in the shakers with the sea salt. Explain that would you?

If you think you may inherit osteoporosis, try lying on the floor, on your belly, with your arms outstretched in front of you, like you were diving into a pool. Now try to lift them as high as you can and try to lower your arms slowly, do this at least a dozen times a day. After awhile you may want to add some weights. It's worth a try.

Try using a broomstick; placing it accross your shoulders (let it down on your back a bit) and grab ahold on each end with your hands and try to walk around that way for awhile, it will help to keep your shoulders straight. I used to do that after I broke my back and I truly believe it has helped me.

Another must is to drink a cup or two of green or black tea a day.

And I can't stress enough that you should eat all natural foods. I know I sound like a broken record but I really believe this can help in so many ways.

My all natural cookbook can help you with that. GRANDMA'S BACK TO BASICS ALL NATURAL MORE THAN JUST A COOKBOOK ISBN#0-8059-6286-7. Good old fashioned cooking. You may order at: www.dorrancepublishing.com or call at: 1-800-788-7654 or at: Amazonbooks.com

Tanning beds or the sun

Eat for the health of it.

I have been critisized over and over for lying in the sun, getting a beautiful tan, getting my dose of vitamin D. Little do these people know that the best way to get vitamin D is from the sun and vitamin D is one of the most important vitamins.

I just read an article about the tanning beds. I know people like to get a little tan started before they take their vacation so they look good in their bathing suits. I have never used one and dought that I ever will because my niece used one and she broke out all over her body and even in her mouth. She was really misserable for awhile. I have no idea what ever caused this with her but it sure made me decide that I would never use one.

I have heard that they cause skin cancer but has it ever been proven? I really think if a person uses common sense in using tanning beds or the tanning stalls, and just tan slowly, they will be fine. I wouldn't use them for long periods of time, but when a person wants to get a little start on a tan before their vacation and then stop using it, I might do that. It's just like tanning in the sun, you don't want to go out there the first day for several hours, you're going to get burnt and when you get burned that is where the dangerous part is.

Every year I go to Florida and when I get there, I lay out for fifteen minutes on either side and I go inside and then I try it again. Then the next day I do the same until I feel I can stay out there longer adding a few minutes each day.

If you get burnt the first day, your vacation is over with, especially if you get sun poisoning or burned real bad. You're better off going home with a little tan than a painful burn.

I guess I just believe in more of the all natural things, like eating all natural. If you are interested in eating all natural, please try my all natural cookbook GRANDMA'S BACK TO BASICS ALL NATURAL MORE THAN JUST A COOKBOOK ISBN #0-8059-6286-7 My cookbook is loaded with good old fashioned recipes, made with natural ingredients like they used to use. more bad news on artificial foods

Eat for the health of it.

I cannot understand how these scientists can use our money to make more artificial foods, even if they do look real and taste like real food they are a nutrition-free lab monster, a meat analogue. Why would anyone want to eat chicken in disguise? I cannot imagine what this can taste like let alone thinking of the non-nutrition part of it.
Soy products mimic estrogen, making your body think it is getting a hormone boost. I tasted soy once and it has an odd taste. I always think that these people must not know what real food tastes like. Wouldn't they get a surprise if they tried eating real food?

To top it off, what do you think of the people that are trying to get rid of the belly fat by eating live parasites? They believe that these parasites will eat the fat up. How stupid can they be?

It's the real thing for me. I eat all natural and I feel good.

A mangy looking guy goes into the bar and orders a drink. The bartender says, "No way, I don't think you can pay for it."
The guy answers,"You're right I haven't got any money, but if I show you something you haven't seen before will you give me a drink?" The bartender says, "Okay."
The guy reaches into his pocket and pulls out a hamster. The hamster jumps down and runs to the piano and jumps around on the piano and made some fine music.

The bartender said, "That was pretty good." The bartender hands him a drink and the guy drinks it down and asks for another. The bartender says nope, you have to pay for this one or show us something else."
The man reaches in his pocket and pulls out a frog. He sets the frog on the bar and the frog starts to sing. A stranger comes up to the guy and offers him $300 for the frog and the guy takes it.
The bartender says, "Are you nuts? You just sold a singing frog for $300. It must be worth millions.
The man says, "Not so, my Hamster is a ventriloquist."

Let the water from your shower run over your head and nose.

Drink warm tea.

Drink a lot of water.

got home

Eat for the health of it.

I'm home, we made it in two days. The traffic wasn't bad at all, so smooth sailing.

Just a joke tonight.

Women are like apples on the top of the tree. The best are at the top and men don't want to reach for them, they take the ones on the ground that are easy. The apples at the top think there is something wrong with them but in reality they're amazing- they wait for the right man that is brave enough to climb to the top of the tree.

Now men are like fine wine, they begin as grapes and it's up to the women to stomp the crap out of them until they are something worth having dinner with.

getting rid of the rashes

Eat for the health of it.

Poison ivy is probably the worst rash I ever had. I would get it every year and I would take drops trying to prevent it and if you forgot the drops I got it anyway. Then I heard of a druggist that made an awful tasting concoction, and you had to drink two bottles of it but it did the trick. I haven't had poison ivy since then and that has been at least 40 years ago. If anyone has any knowledge of this concoction please let me know. I don't need it but my son does. He gets poison ivy every year.

I know all about rashes. Not only the poison ivy but the allergies to chemicals in our food. I can guess what I ate by the way the rash looks. If the hives go from the top of my hands and up the top of my arms, I know it's Aspartame, HFCS causes a painful red cracked skin under my arms, breasts and where my legs bend. MSG gives me hives in and around my mouth plus cramps and diarrhea.Chlorine in city water and swimming pools make me break out with a rash, Also the bleaching agent in flour and sugar. And Splenda is another one that has some type of bleaching agent. It affects me the same as other bleaching agents.

The best thing to do is to find out what you are allergic to; that's the only way to fight it and once you find out what you are allergic to try to avoid it by checking labels to see if it is in the food you are eating. If you don't, you will never conquer it. It can be deadly so don't mess with it.

The best thing to do is eat all natural. I know some people are allergic to some all natural foods like peanut butter, gluten, milk, etc. I thought I was allergic to flour and sugar too but I found out it was the bleaching agent in the flour and sugar to make it white. Why does it have to be white? Buy unbleached flour and sugar, it works just the same in baking and cooking. Only lemonade and lemon pie have a little different taste so then you can use Fructose, another all natural sweetener. (Fructose-not High Fructose Corn Syrup) HFCS has a chemical added to it.

Dry skin or psoriasis

Eat for the health of it.

Psoriasis is a very annoying scaly, dead skin irritation that can show up on the knees, elbows and scalp. It could be from allergies, not eating right, or toxins in the liver. Well with all the chemicals they put in our foods these days, it's no wonder.
I would try Aloe vera gel(from the health food store). If you can get the plant itself and open the plant and rub the gel right from the plant onto the area affected. Do this three times a day.

Get out into the sun but don't get burnt. You need vitamin D. Ask at the healthfood store to see if they have some other methods if these do not work for you.

Eat healthy all natural foods. If people only knew how important all natural foods are.

PMS-the curse of women

Eat for the health of it.

It doesn't have to be a curse. You can learn to accept it as a necessity for the body. Mostly, if you have a lot of problems with your cycle, that is probably all it is. If you feel really bad, have headaches, mood swings, lose sleep or have severe pain and other severe symptoms, you need to see if you have a serious problem. You could have an estrogen-progesterone imbalance.

You can try eliminating things like fat, sugar, salt and caffeine from your diet and see if that helps. Animal fats can contribute to bloating and mood swings. Some people crave chocolate, that may help but soy wouldn't be as fattening. Something else to try is foods high in vitamin B6. Try brown rice, bananas, chicken and tuna, also eat a lot of greens.
If you crave sugar, try a cup of burdock tea. I still remember when I was quite young and the neighbor lady would always talk to my mother about drinking burdock tea. We were always trying to kill burdock because it grew wild all over the place and it had those seeds in the late summer and we used to make things out of them because they had prickly things on them so they would stick together.

The natural things in life that we let go by, it's really sad. Everyone got modernized. I am glad that someone has salvaged some of the natural things in life.

I don't have recipes with burdock or any other weeds in my cookbook but I do have recipes with all natural ingredients, that will be much better for you then all of these processed foods out there with additives, especially chemicals.

dyspareunia or painful mating?

Eat for the health of it.

If you are having painful intercourse,or if you have itching, or burning, see a doctor. If the doctor doesn't find anything wrong, maybe your partner isn't taking enough time with the foreplay.

Make sure that you don't use any harsh soaps while bathing, avoid bubble baths, body washes and douches. You can try using a vitamin E capsul. Insert it into the vagina and give it some time for the casing to dissolve. Time for some foreplay. You can find personal lubricants at the drugstore but you may want to stay away from the enhancing type if you are sensitive to additives or chemicals. You should ask the doctor or pharmacist.

"You don't?

"We only have 6,9 and 12."

"So I can't have a half dozen?"

"That's right."

The lady shook her head and said, "I'll take 6 of them then."

No one wants osteoperosis

Eat for the health of it.

You don't have to look like the hunchback of Notra Dame when you get old. Try following a few helpful hints and hope for the best, it might help.

There is a lot of salt in processed and packaged foods. Salt drains our body of calcium which is very important to keeping us walking tall. Some lose bone mass by taking steroids for arthritis. Drinking black tea or green tea every day may preserve bone density. You can ask your doctor to schedule you for a bone density test to see if need calcium.

If you use salt, use a sea salt or Himalayan salt, they do not have the non caking chemical in them. The chemical is the problem, not the salt.

It's late tonight and we are getting company tomorrow and I probably will not be on here tomorrow night either. A quickie add:

a man takes his Rottweiller for a walk. After awhile he decides to go into a bar for a drink but the bartender told him the dog was not allowed, so he tied him outside while he went in to have a drink.

Shortly afterwards a lady walks in and asks,"Does anyone in here own a large dog?"
The man proudly answers,"Yes, that's my dog."

She blurts out,"Well. it's dead."
The man asks,"Did you hit it with your car?"
She answers, "No, my dog killed it."
Knowing that a Rottweiller is a very powerful dog, he asks, "What is he, a Pit bull?"
"No, I have a Chihuahua,"she says.
Puzzled, he asks,"How in the world did your chihuahua kill my Rottweiller?"
"Well. I'm not a vet but I think she got stuck in his throat."

Nausea is not fun

Eat for the health of it.

I have never gotten sea sick, even though I have been on deep sea fishing trips,I have been on five cruises, and other boat rides. I am sure to whoever is affected by this, it has to be absolutely misserable. Some people also have the same type feeling coming out of anesthetic after surgery. If you do have surgery and think you may be ill try taking deep breaths, it will keep your mind off the nausea.

Other things to try are: Basil tea, place a few leaves in a cup of boiling hot water. Ginger tea, made with 1 teaspoon ginger in a cup of hot water. You can try pressing on the base of your thumbs and wrist. Or one more, try sniffing a newspaper. Don't laugh unless you try it, but don't blame me if it doesn't work. I only heard this, give it a try.

Give my book a try too, please.

Laughter is healthy:

A local bar is so sure that their bartender is the strongest man alive that they offered a $1000 to anyone that could squeeze even a drop of lemon juice from a lemon after this bartender was done with it. After squeezing the lemon until all the juice goes into a glass, the owner announces anyone that can squeeze even one drop from this lemon now I will pay them $1000.

A scrwny little guy pops out, "I'll try it."

After everyone stopped laughing the bartender handed him the rind of the lemon. The little guy took it into his hand a sure enough had squeezed a couple more drops out of that rind.

The bartender, amazed, asked,"How did you do that?"Are you some kind of weight lifter or a logger?"

The man said,"No. I work for the tax office."

think about this

Eat for the health of it.

I know a young couple that have been trying hard to get pregnant but nothing is happening. I don't see them myself because they do not live close to me but I just recently saw the parents and the subject came up again so I asked them if this couple were on any special diet and they said that the couple were trying to lose weight, but they felt it wasn't a healthy diet that they were on.

I told the parents to have them, not to worry about losing weight, but to eat only healthy food and to make sure it was all natural. If they do this they will more than likely conquer two things, they will probably lose weight and she may become healthy enough to get pregnant.

If you are in that same predicament, why not try it. It will probably take a few months before you get your system built up but if you really want to have a baby, it's worth the try.

I am sure they have one of my cookbooks because I was at the bridal shower and I usually give one of my books for a shower gift.

A business man goes into a bar and orders a drink, he drinks it down and then he peeks inside of his shirt pocket. He orders another drink and after he finishes it, he peeks in his shirt pocket.
The bartender finally is curious and asks,"Why do you keep peeking into your shirt pocket?"

The customer replies,"I have a picture of my wife in there and when she starts to look good to me, it's time to go home."

Do yu have nail fungas?

Eat for the health of it.

I have had a toe nail fungus that I have been fighting for years. Probably a variation of treatments will work but for one thing you really need to keep at it all the time. I have tried different things that seem to work and then I forget to keep it up and it isn't long, it's back again.

First of all, if you are diabetic and you get a serious nail fungus or infection, or if it has already become painful, you need to see a doctor.

Tea Tree oil is one that helps, but only paint it on the nail, don't get it on the skin. You have to put it on the nail two to three times a day. And then it will still take months for it to kill all of the fungus. I know it's hard to keep it up, but it's that or head for the doctors office.

Something else that I find really works is Vicks, it might sound crazy but I have used that lately and it is easier because it doesn't matter if you get it on your skin. I like to rub it all over my feet and toes, then put on white socks. It will soften your dry skin and it also will kill the fungus. My toenail looks the best it has in years by using the Vicks.

It seems like all the old remedies work better and I think they are safer all around. So many of these drugs are so harsh and they kill more than they should. I guess that's why I like to use anything that is all natural when possible.

If you eat all natural, it's going to be much better for you. The chemicals in food can cause so much harm.

If you know a young couple that has tried to have children and have not been able to conceive, and they seem healthy, tell them to eat all natural foods and stay away from any processed foods and foods that have chemicals added to them. Try this for a few months and hopefully they will get pregnant. I have heard of this happening.

The nun replied, "Of course not."

Then let me buy you a drink and if you can prove to me that it is evil, then I will never drink another drop."

"But I cannot be seen drinking."

"Of course not. I'll have the bar tender put it in a tea cup."

She agreed and the guy goes inside to order the drinks,"I'll have a beer and a Vodka, and would you mind putting the Vodka in a teacup?"

The bartender asks,"Is that nun back here again?"

CRAMPS!!!

Eat for the health of it.

A muscle relaxer called Jamaican Dogwood that can be found at the health food stores is a big help at that time of the month. Follow the direction on the label.

If you would rather take something more familier, try a cup of very hot water and add a 1/2 teaspoon of ginger and drink it every day during your period.

To help regulate your period, eat soy nuts and/or flaxseed. One more is to take 1 to 3 grams of fish oil every day.

I can't stop repeating that eating all natural foods and drinks will also help with most any health problem. If you have been eating processed foods and diet drinks etc. it may take a little while for your system to get used to all that good food, just hang in there.

While he was waiting for the horse to get well enough to ride, he re-enters the bar.A few minutes later another cowboy enters the bar and asks, "Who owns that big white horse outside?"
The Lone Ranger stands up and says,"I do, now what is wrong with him?"

The cowboy looks at him and says,"Nothing, but you left your Injun running,"

Losing your memory or brain farts?

Eat for the health of it.

Do you forget someones name that you should know really well? What about your phone number or why you went into the other room? Do you get scared and wonder if you are losing your mind? I have done these things and it kinda scares me but when a couple of friends that I know really well started to show signs of alzheimers, I knew my problem was just a case of being to darn busy to remember everything.

Then forgetting a friends name, especially if you haven't seen that person in a while and you probably have talked to hundreds of people in between, can you really expect your brain to remember every little thing?

I go to the swimming pool three days a week and there is probably fifty people in there and I probably have spoken to half of them, most of them will exchange names, but when we all go back home to another state and another swimming pool, you might remember some of their names when you come back the next winter but I don't think anyone can remember them all.

If I give anyone my phone number, I always have to say the whole 10 digits, especially when we have two sets of phone numbers. I find it is easier to remember, I don't know why.

I can't even tell you what my cell phone number is because I never dial it.

The main thing is to keep active, keep that blood flowing through the brain cxells and keep those cobwebs from forming. If you are able to play tennis or dance or just a good walk every day will keep the blood flowing to the brain.

Foods like blueberries, lean meat, eggs, fish and omega-3 fish oil, really most any food that is all natural will help you in so many ways. If people only knew how important it is to eat all natural. And it's never too late to start.

The old lady answers, "No."

"Are you going shopping and spend it on clothes?"

The old lady answers,"No, I don't waste time shopping."

"Will you spend it at the beauty shop?"

The old lady again answers,"Are you nuts? I haven't had my hair done in twenty years."

"Well, I'm not going to give you this money, because I want to go home and get my husband and we will meet you at the diner accross the street and we will have dinner with you."

The old lady asks,"Are you sure that your husband will want to be seen with me? I am dirty and I smell bad."

"Oh, that's okay, it's very important for him to see what a woman looks like when she has given up shopping, hair appointments and wine.

No more laryngitis?

Eat for the health of it.

I know I shouldn't say this but I can't remember when the last time I had laryngitis and I used to get it all the time.(Now I will probably get it.) I really like this ginger candy that they have at the health food store and I was just reading an article about ginger and no more laryngitis. Apparently ginger stops acid backflow from happening, which in turn can cause excessive acid in the throat and esophagus and may cause little ulcers on your vocal cords and I believe that could be true too because I seldom have acid refux. And another thing I do is drink my all natural health drink in my cookbook. (The apple cider vinegar, pure apple juice and all natural white grapejuice.) Also hot water with a teaspoon of lemon juice and/or honey, whichever way you would like it best.
If you have a partial bag of horehound candy that no-one really liked after you bought it, don't throw it away, The next time you have a sore throat, put a few in some water and boil it until it melts down and sip it. You can add lemon or licorice to it also.

Three mice were sitting at a bar in a bad part of town, trying to impress each other how tough they are.
The first mouse orders a shot of whisky and throws it down the hatch, sets his glass on the bar and says to the other two mice,"When I see a mousetrap, I lie down on my back and set the mouse trap off with my foot. When it comes down, I catch it with my teeth, bench press it twenty times to work up an appetite, and then I make off with the cheese."

The second mouse orders two shots of Scotch. Drinks them down and slams the glasses on the bar and says,"Well, when I see rat poison I take it home, grind in into a fine powder and add a little to my coffee every morning."

After taking this all in the third mouse says, "I'm not drinking tonight, I have to go home and sleep with the cat."

What;s the real reason that your skin itches?

Eat for the health of it.

If you have a real big problem with your skin itching, it is best to find out why it's itching. I had this and it can just about drive you crazy, especially when the doctor can't diagnose what you have.

Some doctors will even prescribe hypnoses. You can try hydrcortisone cream or Antihistomines, which can dry your skin and you will itch even more.

Now because I have gone through this and I know what you are going through, I want to tell you what I went through. I had terrible itching and rash, leaking crusty stuff all over my stomach area. I went to the doctor and he treated me for poison ivy. After the shots didn't do a thing for me he told me I had an allergic reaction from spmething and I wouold have to go to an allergy doctor and he put me through the process of elimination, which I did and I found out it was the chlorine in city water.

That was only the beginning of the allergies I had from chemicals they put in our food. I have to ask at every place I eat,"Do you use all natural foods?" Or I ask if they use MSG or High Fructose Corn Syrup, Aspartame or Splenda etc. I have to or I just break out just terrible. What really bothers me is that children are eating these products with all of these chemicals and even if they do not show a reaction to them, they can still be making them very sick. Some of the things that can help is licorice, Oolong tea, I am taking omega-3 oil in a capsul three times a day. Tanning also helps. I also have to carry an epi pen and I take allegra if I accidently eat any chemicals in food. Sometimes I get cramps and diarhea from MSG. Medications can cause the same type reactions. I also have certain medications I am allergic to especially if they are the generic kind because the filler is made of something I am allergic to.

Trouble falling asleep?

Eat for the health of it.

You are not alone if you have trouble sleeping. Or do you fall asleep and later wake up and can't go back to sleep? That is annoying too. I have done both and it is annoying and then you drag your body around all the next day.

First of all, you want to stay away from drinks with caffeine in it. Don't exercise too late. Exercise at least 5 hours before hitting the sack. Take a hot shower or a warm bath a couple of hours before going to bed. Make some lavender sachets and put them around the room. Lavender is calming. Try warming a little organic sesame oil and rub it on your feet and temples and behind your ears.

I seldom have trouble sleeping but I think most people at some time do have a restless night and it seems no matter what you do you can't fall asleep. If you think about what you had for supper or dinner, which ever you call it, I lived in the country, on a farm all my life and we usually called the evening meal, (Supper).
If you eat something that will give you energy like, sugar, coffee or tea with caffein in them, sweet desserts and even alcohol. Alcohol can make you sleep but after a few hours it can wake you up too. It affects everyone differently.

Try natural foods and drinks that agree with you most, but stay away from drinks and foods that have caffeine in them. And eat early enough so your stomach isn't full when you go to bed.

Hot chocolate and cholesterol

Eat for the health of it.

Can you believe lowering your cholesterol with a cup of hot chocolate? Sounds good to me. Make your cup of hot chocolate with pure cocoa, rich in flavanoids, has been shown to lower LDL and to raise HDL. I do like chocolate and my cholesterol is good so maybe there is something to that. And I have really learned to like dark chocolate.

I think it all has to do with how healthy a person is, maybe someone that is really over weight, it may not work or if they are diabetic, I would use a sweetener like Stevia or Excella,(something all natural to sweeten). Another drink to try is a glass of unsweetened cranberry juice instead of wine.

Oh! If people would just learn to eat the all natural foods and beverages. How healthy we would all be.
