Watch the calories

Eat for the health of it.

Believe it or not, going to the movies can pack on the pounds, if you go very often and eat your way through the movie. You buy a 12 cup bucket of popcorn (nearly 700 calories) add the buttery topping, another 150 calories. Then you order a large soft drink ( another 300-500 ) calories. And then you want a little something for the sweet tooth, the calories from the candy can very from 300 to a whopping 1,160 calories. Your average intake of calories should only be about 2000 calories. You do the math. I know that most of the time we share all of that but not some people. I have seen my husband sit and eat a whole big Tupperware bowl full. I know it's good with all that butter on there but I try to stay away from it. And I stay away from candy because it has HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) in it.

False labeling inferiates me because I am so alergic to all of these chemicals and when the item is less then 5% of the product, they do not have to list it as an ingredient. I don't know why they cannot force them to only label the truth about everything instead of coming up with new schemes to trick the consumer. With all of the chemicals that they add to our foods, it's a wonder anyone lives past their fiftieth birthday.

Physical activity of any kind is very good for you and eating good and chemical free is the only way to go. No matter what kind of diet you are on, you cannot eat all you want or whatever you want and lose weight. Exercising cannot burn all the calories either but keep on exercising. No matter how old you are, you can do some kind of exercise to build some muscle tone. Check with your doctor first and he may even help you chose the type of exercise you need.

Laughter is healthy:

Shortly after a British Airway Flight had reached it's cruising altitude, the Captain came on and announced:
"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your Captain, welcome to flight 293, non stop from London Heathrow to Toronto. The weather ahead is good, so we should have a smooth, uneventful flight, so sit back and relax and,,,Oh MY God,,,!" Silence followed!
Some moments later the Captain came back on the intercom, "Ladies and gentlemen, I am sorry if I scared you but a flight attendant spilled a cup of hot coffee in my lap. You should see the front of my pants."

One old Irish passenger yelled out, "Be Jayzes, yyou should see the back of mine!!!"
