Sleep Apnea

Eat for the health of it.

Sleep Apnea, which is an interuption of breathing while you sleep, and is scarry for the person sleeping next to you. I know this because my husband has it. Obesity, is one of the leading causes of this disorder. It occurs more often in men than in women. One of the first signs of Sleep Apnea is loud snoring, another is you gasp for breath and you feel tired most of the time.

If you live alone, you need to have a sleep study done to check for snoring and other signs of Sleep Apnea such as diabetes, which is linked to Sleep Apnea. Another important thing about Sleep Apnea is, people that have it are twice as likely to get in an auto accident.

A prescribed treatment for Sleep Apnea, is a CPAP machine, other treatments are mouthpieces that can be made by a dentist, that will help to keep the airway open, and at last resort would be surgery.

By all means try these before you do that:
Lose weight, change sleep positions, avoid alcohol, and do not use sleep medications.

Always try to get some sunshine. Vitamin D strengthens the immune system and may inhibit cancerous cell growth. It strenthens bones and helps prevent diabetes and lowers the risk of heart disease.

Eating healthy is very important in order to be healthy.
