Can foods be addicting?

Eat for the health of it.

Some people are addicted to gambling, alcohol, sex or smoking, and I believe that we can be addicted to eating. Do you often hide cookies because you know if they are out in plane sight, you are going to have a bite of one and then before you know it you eat 2 or 3, maybe more? It's just like an addiction, you see it and your brain tells you to eat one and then it's like an arousal and you keep thinking about it, then you want to have another. Any time you have foods that are multisensory, like ice cream that has sugar and cream, and it's cold. It's so good and your brain tells you, more, more. Anytime you add sugar, fat, salt, it's like an arousal, the brain gets activated and you want to eat. You either have to keep busy or you will give in to whatever has excited your taste buds.

A person that is overweight has some sort of problem coping with foods. You will see an individual that is overweight and they may go for more food several times. It's very hard for them to quit because they are really addicted to food. Some people just do not feel full until they have quit eating then all of a sudden you realize you ate too much and you are miserable. Some people actually are thinking of what they want to eat next, before they are done with what is on their plate.

The food industry knows that people are stimulated by certain ingredients in food and they are going to use this method of enticement. We all like the salty french fries, cheese burgers and maybe some ice cream for desert. If you are determined to fix your diet then you have to vow to make that change. Look at that food as something that is not good for you, like the cigarettes. At first people thought it was cool to smoke and then they realized it was just a dirty unhealthy habit. It's the same with food. Yes, we do have to eat but we have to choose the good foods that make us healthy and at the same time may take off some pounds. It may be difficult at first but if we try we can choose foods that are not laden with fats, sugars and salt. In some cases where you would like sweetened coffee, try using Stevia, at least that is not fattening and it is an all natural sweetener, with 0 calories and you may even lose some weight just by giving up the sugar in your coffee. In your cooking at home you can add a little Himalayan salt or sea salt to your foods, because the sea salt does not have the non-caking chemical in it like regular salt has and you do need salt in your body. Buy the Sea salt that has iodine(you need iodine) added to it. And as far as fats go, you have to learn to control them but if you are on a low carb diet, you can have those fats. It will be a choice that you have to make and anyone that just cannot give up eating, the low carb diet is for you. You will have to give up sugar and starches though. (Remember that the all natural (Stevia) is better for you then the chemical sweeteners). And remember that the low carb diet is pretty much all natural too, so it is healthy for you.

Laughter is healthy:

A lady goes into the bar on a cruise ship and oders a Scotch with 2 drops of water. As the bartender gives her the drink, she comments that she is 80 years old today.
The bartender says, "Happy Birthday, this drink is on me."
The lady sitting next to her says,"The next drink is on me, and Happy Birthday to you."
The old lady says,"Thank you, I'll have another Scotch with two drops of water."
"Coming right up."says the bartender.
As she finishes that drink, the guy on her right says."I would like to buy you a drink too."
The older lady says,"Thank you, I will have another Scotch with two drops of water, please."
"Coming right up," says the bartender.
As he hands her the drink the bartender asks,"Ma'm, why do you order the Scotch with just two drops of water?"
The old woman replies,"Sonny, when you are my age, you've learned how to hold your liquor. Holding your water , however, is another whole issue."
