Good eating habits start at home.

Eat for the health of it.

With a busy schedule people have these days, it's really hard to always eat together. It takes both parents sometimes to get the kids to practice, with one going to play basketball and the other has soccer, then there is track and football, etc. If you start at a young age and let the kids know that you expect them to help a bit around the house and getting meals ready, help with the laundry, take out the trash. That way they know what it's all about when they have to cook. And it does mom and dad some good too if they can just go out by themselves now and then. It prepares the kids for their future.

But the most important thing about this whole thing is that you get to spend that time together and years from now you will look back and cherish that. I had five brothers and five sisters and you can imagine what table size that was. We had fun and we all still remember those days, and it's fun now to get together at a family reunion and tell tales about each other, some may be a little blown out of proportion but it is always so much fun.

Kids that are taught to cook at home are more apt to eat healthier also and it sticks with them through life. I cannot see where anyone thinks that buying prepackaged foods makes them easier to fix. If you buy everything out of the freezer you still have to read the directions and you still have to cook it. I don't even like to rummage through the freezer looking for a package of meat or whatever else there is in there. At least once a week have a fresh cooked meal. Stop by the market and buy that speacial meat and if you don't have the potatoes, lettuce and other vegetables, you'll have to get them too. Just give the kids a job to help clean everything and get it ready. Wala!!
I bought some of those frozen foods but not very often because you still have to read the directions and put it in another container and you have to watch it so it doesn't over bake and you still have the mess to clean up. Well, isn't that what you do with fresh foods? And doesn't the fresh foods taste a whole lot better? I thought so.

If you learned to cook when you were younger, you crave for that good taste. And then when it is all natural, it's even better.

Laughter is healthy:Things you shouldn't say if you are stopped by a police officer.

"You must have been driving 125 MPH if you were keeping up with me."

"I can't find my license, can you hold my beer?"

If an officer says "Your eyes are red, have you been drinking?" You probably shouldn't say, "Your eyes are glazed, have you benn eating doughnuts?"
