Stevia is safe

Eat for the health of it.

For years and years and years, Stevia has been used as a sweetener to sweeten drinks and food. It is extracted from a plant that grows wild in Paraguay and Brazil. Although several companies have told the FDA that Stevia is GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe)They will not approve of it.( If an ingredient is reconized as safe, the FDA will only allow it to be sold as a dietary supplement. Now they know that Stevia has been used for years in other countries and has been proven to be safe but they don't want it to be used to sweeten sodas and other foods but they will allow Acelfame K, a cancer risk. Saccharin (Sweet and Low, in animal studies it has caused cancer of the urinary bladder, uterus, ovaries, skin, blood vessels and other organs. Sucralose (Splenda), they say it appears to be safe but how can that be when it is made by chlorinating sugar molecules? I am very allergic to Clorine, I break out with hives and rash and I also have severe chest pain from it, and people should be aware of this, that sometimes when they are having chest pains and they cannot find anything wrong then think about what you ate recently. And what does it do to your system? I know city water is chlorinated, I know it has to be to clean that dirty stuff up so you can drink it. They clean it up and get rid of the chemicals but they turn around and put the chemicals right back in the pipes to kill bacteria and I understand that they have to do that, but they should educate people to put a filter on their water systems so they do not drink the Chlorine.

Now the government is allowing off brands of Stevia and they will probably get it through, but when I wrote and asked if Truvia had Chemicals in it, they did not give me an answer, so that was my answer. I am sure they have chemicals in it. If the FDA approves it there will be some chemicals in it because that is the only way they can have the say because all natural foods do not have to be approved by the government. And remember if the product has a chemical in it and it is not at least 5% of the product, they do not have to list it. The other new sweeteners you have to watch out for are: PureVia and Sweetleaf. They are planning on adding Stevia to coke and Pepsi products, but I really wonder if it will be pure all natural Stevia or if they add chemicals to it or process it so it will be a chemical so they can control it. Why would they change the name of it if they did not change the substance? I am a good source of detecting whether a food contains a chemical, because I break out from all of them. It is not fun to have this allergy to chemicals because it limits me what I can eat and I believe that these chamicals cause cancer.

Laughter is healthy: Each Friday night after work, Bubba would fire up the grill and cook a venison steak. But all of Bubba's neighbors were Cathilic and they couldn't eat meat on Friday.

The aroma from the grilled steak really bothered the neighborhood. The priest was called in and he suggested that Bubba become a Catholic and he agreed. After several classes , Bubba attended Mass. When he was baptized the priest poured the water over him while saying,"You were born baptist and raised Baptist but you are now Catholic." Bubbas neighbors were relieved until Friday night came and the same aroma came from Bubbas back yard. The priest was called and as he entered the back yard, there stood Bubba, clutching a small bottle of holy water which he carefully sprinkled over the grill and chanted, "you was born a deer, you was raised a deer, but now you is a catfish."
