Just some info

Eat for the health of it.

I know I have talked before of how important Vitamin D is. I know a lot of people are so afraid to go out in the sun that it is pathetic. Don't let those old poo-poo's about being in the sun is bad for you because the best way you can get vitamin D is from the sunshine. Get out in it. Sunshine can actually lower your risk of breaking your hip and other bones. If you are really afraid of the sun, then you really should take a supplement. If you are over 65 you should take at least 600 IU of vitamin D per day. Keep in mind the sun is free and all you have to do is take a stroll out there in that wonderful sunshine. I am not selling vitamins.

I like fresh fruit juices, but when you peel the fruit you lose a lot of natural compounds. Once you start to process the fruit it loses a lot of the nourishment and enzymes that are in the fruit, apposed to, if you would eat the whole thing. It's best if you can get fresh fruits and eat what is in season, but it isn't always possible unless you live in a warm climate year around.

Did you know that red meat, like beef and pork, and processed meats like, bacon, ham, hot dogs, sausage and deli meats can cause Cancer, heart disease and diabetes?
What scares me mostly are the children that are fed these lunch meats and hot dogs every day. I wonder if any parents ever go to a day care or even the school to see what their children are eating.

There are just too many chemicals that are added to our food supply and it doesn't seem like anything is being done about it. If even fifty percent of the people would break out from these chemicals like I do they would probably do something about it, only because of the loss of sales. I buy very little processed foods, because I am allergic to the chemicals. I wish more people would just stop buying all these chemical laden foods then maybe they would take them off the market. People apparently do not know that these foods with chemicals in them can cause all kinds of problems even though you do not have allergic reactions.

Laughter is healthy: The Tiny Cabin: A social worker from the City in Massachusettes recently transferred to the mountains of North Carolina and was on the first tour of her new territory when she came upon the tiniest cabin she had ever seen in her life.

Intrigued, she went up and knocked on the door, "Anyone home?" she asked.

"Yep," came a kids voice through the door.

"Is your father there?" she asked.

"Pa?" Nope, he left afore Ma came in."

"Well, is your mother there?" persisted the social worker.

"Ma? Nope, she left just afore I got here," the kid answered.

"But, protested the social worker, "are you never together as a family?"

"Sure, but not here," said the kid through the door. "This is the outhouse!"
