don't freeze in plastic

Eat for the health of it.

I am passing this information on from Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Dioxin Carcinogens causes cancer.Especially breast cancer. Do not freeze your plastic bottles of water as this releases dioxin in the plastic.

Dr. Edward Fujimoto from Castle hospital was on a TV program explaining this health hazard. (He is the manager of the Wellness Program at the hospital.)He is talking about dioxin and how bad they are for us. He says that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately in the cells of the body. Dioxin are carcinogens and highly toxic to the cells of our bodies.

Instead, he recommends using glass, Corning Ware, or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, without the dioxin.

So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc.,should be removed from the containers and heated in something like glass or corning ware.

Even paper plates etc., is questionable because you don't know what is in the paper product. It's just safer to use glass or corning ware.

He reminds us of when the fast food restaurants were using the sterofoam products to paper products. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

To add to this: Saran wrap placed over foods as they are nuked, with the high heat, actually drips poisoness toxins into the food, use paper towels.

Myself, I seldom use my microwave. The smell of some food from a microwave turns my stomach, especially bacon. I would rather take a few minutes longer and heat it on the stove.

I take leftover pizza and put it in a large skillet with a teaspoon of butter(let it melt in the skillet) on a lower heat with a cover on it. The pizza will be as good as fresh. So it takes a few minutes longer. By the time you get your plate and silverware ready and a drink, your pizza will be warmed through.

Laughter is healthy:

A guy named Bob receives a free ticket to the Super Bowl from his company. Unfortunately, when Bob gets to the game, he realizes that his seat is in the last row of the stadium-he's closer to the Goodyear blimp than the field.

About halfway through the first quarter, Bob notices an empty seat 10 rows off the field, right on the fifty yard line. He decides to take a chance and makes his way through the stadium and around the security guards to the empty seat.

As he sits down he asks the gentleman next to him,"Excuse me, is this seat taken?" The man answered,"No."

Now, very excited to be in such a great seat for the game, Bob again inquires of the man next to him, "This is incredible! Who in their right mind would have a seat like this at the Super Bowl and not use it?"

The man replies, "Well, actually, the seat still, belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This is the first Super Bowl we haven't been at together since we got married in 1967."

"Well that's really sad." says Bob, "but still, couldn't you find someone to take the seat? A relative or close friend?"

"No," the man replies, "they're all at the funeral."
